Integrations
Integrations are all the little components that make Home Assistant feel like a unified system. They are essentially bridges that allow Home Assistant to connect and communicate with other devices, platforms, or services that makeup your “home network”. These integrations enable Home Assistant to gather information from various sources, control different devices, and automate tasks within your smart home ecosystem.

Integrations come in two basic flavors:
- Packaged - these are natively supported from within Home Assistant (full list of integrations)
- Custom - usually built by an individual developer, often because it was not available from the packaged set above
