My intent was initially narrow in scope: find a way to remotely control the lights and the door lock to a detached home office I had recently completed. That was it. I didn’t anticipate the endless stream of micro-improvements a home automation system enables, and I certainly never imagined that five-plus years later I’d still be improving the system. But I guess that’s the challenge and fun.
